SNØMARKET 2026

The Norwegian restaurant cordially invites you to our 8th annual Snømarket.  Each year, The Norwegian transforms their parking lot into a winter market for all to experience the cozy holiday season in Rockford's historic North End neighborhood.

When To Come:

December 11, 3 pm - 9 pm

December 12, 3 pm- 9 pm

December 13, 11 am - 4 pm

Where To Park:

Street parking is available in the residential areas surrounding 1402 N Main Street in Rockford, Illinois

How To Dress:

Bundle up in heavy coats, hats, mittens, and scarves; parkas are also encouraged.

What To Expect:

Snømarket is a festive outdoor event with custom-built Nordic houses, hot food, beverages like glögg and nog, sweets, fish-on-a-stick, and lots of holiday spirit.  Classic events like the herring toss, the horse-drawn carriage ride through Churchill's Grove, Christmas carol-oke, and the Restaurant Olympics will return. Many local vendors will be selling handmade gifts outside in the village and upstairs above the restaurant in The Norwegian Artist Lofts.

What's New:

We are adding a Scandinavian clocktower to Main Street, which also acts as a Krampus house.  We will have new staff-made photo stand-ins, a Viking long bar, and a Big Grove outdoor beer hut.

Who To Bring:

Bring the whole family! Don't miss the free games and outdoor bar bonfire.

Skål to all, and to all, a good night!
